NikNan Design is now a proud member of 1% for the Planet. We believe that all businesses have a responsibility to create a positive impact on the world. We also believe that our power is amplified by building relationships and collaborating with others. By collaborating with 1% for the Planet and their global community we are able to have a wider, longer-lasting positive impact on the planet.
What is 1% for the Planet?
1% for the Plant is a global movement that was created in 2002 by Yvon
Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbons Flies. Their philosophy was simple: if you profit from resources from the Earth, you have a duty to protect those resources. The pair agreed to donate 1% of their profits and were soon followed by many others including Klean Kanteen, New Belgium Brewing and Honest Tea.
Why we support them?
We believe in balancing people, the planet and profits and love to work with brands that believe the same. 1% for the Planet is a way that we can amplify our dollar, in addition to being connected to volunteer opportunities and resources on how to deliver a greater impact. In addition to our monetary commitment, we will continue to strive to lessen our environmental impact through recycling, composting, going digital, when possible, and selecting recycled paper stock when printing is a necessity.
How does it work?
As members of 1% for the Planet, we pledge to give 1% of our revenue to our selected non-profit organizations. This money goes directly to the non-profits we select to be our partners. 1% for the Planet helps members choose the right non-profit to align with by dividing their work into 6 focuses: climate change, food, land, pollution, water and wildlife. We are currently researching which partners our 2021 donation will go towards.
By collaborating with us, you help contribute to the important work of protecting and preserving our natural spaces.
